Challenge

Despite the good they do for society, most non-profits face an uphill battle when it comes to getting adequate marketing visibility. For The Exxcellence Foundation, these challenges were magnified because the organization needed to communicate with a notoriously difficult-to-reach audience of physicians and medical school students. It was also having trouble articulating the value of the many educational resources it offered to these groups.

Solution

We recommended a full overhaul of the Foundation's digital marketing properties, beginning with its website. We created new content, built an easy-to-use, editable database, and designed an inviting new interface, including a version specifically for mobile devices. We then enhanced the design of the Foundation's annual direct mail campaign while substantially reducing the costs it had paid for the campaign in previous years. We also created striking new display materials and developed creative promotions that helped the Foundation initiate dialogue with prospective donors at key industry events.

Results

Armed with a fresh new arsenal of creative materials, The Exxcellence Foundation's dynamic staff has generated continuous, steady growth every year since 2009, both through the acquisition of new donors and through major grant funding. The organization has also seen consistent year-over-year increases in its website traffic, usage of its online educational resources, and attendance at its courses and events.
